E33: Artists #21, Featuring Marko Ivic

Marko Ivic, musician and interdisciplinary artist, is my guest in this episode of the Voices from the Dark Artists series. He shares with us how his career took him from Venezuela to Croatia and Germany, the way he balances his classical training with his experimental projects, and how his sense of “being in a place is hijacked” by freelancing as an artist.

We discuss his view that there usually needs to be a special reason behind making art, since doing so is not always easy and not always profitable. We also discuss his relationship to his audience as a performer and his goal of deconstructing traditional performances. Listen to our great conversation for more about Marko and his work. You can keep up with him via his website markoivic.info. Enjoy!
